The visit checklist
This page is for support workers. It covers the task list on a visit, ticking and unticking, and what each tick records.
What the list is
Section titled “What the list is”The list in the middle of the visit sheet is the client’s visit tasks, taken from their care plan. A coordinator writes them and puts them in order on the client’s record, so the same list appears on every visit for that client.
The heading counts as you go, for example “This visit · 2 of 5 done”.
If the client’s care plan has no tasks, no list appears.
Ticking a task
Section titled “Ticking a task”- Open the visit.
- Tap the box beside the task.
- The task greys out and is struck through, and the count in the heading goes up.
To untick, tap the box again.
The list is shared by everyone on the visit. On a double-up you both see the same ticks, so nothing gets done twice and nothing is assumed done.
What a tick records
Section titled “What a tick records”Each tick is part of the care record, not a private note to yourself:
- It is stamped with the platform’s own clock at the moment you tap. You cannot type a time.
- It is recorded against the visit, with your name on it.
- Unticking does not erase the row. It is kept, and if the task is ticked again it is recorded under whoever ticked it that time.
Every tick and untick goes into the audit trail, which coordinators read on the client’s “Timeline” tab.
If a task cannot be done
Section titled “If a task cannot be done”Do not leave it ticked to tidy the screen. Leave it unticked and say what happened in the handover note when you check out, or report an incident if it needs someone to act. See Checking in and out and Reporting an incident.
Medicines are not on this list. They have their own section on the visit sheet, with their own answers. See Medicines.
