Care plan and tasks
This page is for coordinators and registered managers. It covers the “Care plan” tab: the plan itself, the visit tasks, and what support workers see.
The plan
Section titled “The plan”The “Care plan” card is described as “What good care looks like for this client.” It has three boxes:
- “Needs and preferences”
- “Risks”
- “Access (key safe, entry notes)”
Type into the boxes, then press Save under them; “Saved.” appears for a few seconds. Every save is recorded under your name as one change, however many boxes it touched.
The card also says when the plan was last reviewed (“Not yet reviewed” until it has been) and when the next review is due. “Mark reviewed” puts your name and the time on the record, with “What was reviewed (optional)”, and sets the next due date from the gap under Settings, Timings. An overdue review goes on the alerts shelf.
The access note is the one that travels: it appears on the visit sheet at the door, beside the address and phone number.
Visit tasks
Section titled “Visit tasks”Under the plan is “Visit tasks”. These are the things that should happen on every visit for this client, and they become the tick list a support worker sees at the door.
Adding a task
Section titled “Adding a task”- Type the task into the box labelled “New task…”.
- Click “Add task”.
Write one action per task, in the words the person at the door would use.
Putting them in order
Section titled “Putting them in order”Use the up and down arrows beside a task. Each click swaps it with its neighbour and saves at once. The order on this card is the order at the door.
Removing a task
Section titled “Removing a task”- Click “Remove” beside the task.
- The dialog asks “Remove this task?” and warns “It disappears from every support worker’s visit list.”
- Click “Remove”.
Removing a task takes it off future visits. Ticks already recorded against it stay in the record.
The care schedule
Section titled “The care schedule”Between the plan and the “Away from home” card sits “Assessments”: structured assessments from the templates on the Templates page, each a dated, signed version. The “Away from home” card is on this tab too, because a stay is about when care happens; Absences covers it. Coordinators also get a “Schedule” tab of its own: the client’s recurring weekly pattern, described as “The recurring weekly pattern. Set it once and the next six weeks are already on the rota.” That is how visits reach the rota without anyone drawing them by hand.
What support workers see
Section titled “What support workers see”A support worker opening this tab reads the plan as text rather than as form boxes, and sees the task list without the add, reorder or remove controls. Anything not filled in reads “Not recorded”.
At the door, the tasks appear as the checklist on the visit sheet. See The visit checklist.
