Signing in

This page is for everyone. It covers signing in, what happens if you have been invited but have never signed in before, and what to do when the platform says you have been signed out.

Press Sign in on the WholeVisit front page. You are taken to WorkOS, the identity provider WholeVisit uses, where you enter your details. WholeVisit itself never shows you a password box and never holds your password.

When WorkOS is happy, you come back to WholeVisit and land on the organisation chooser, headed Where are you working?. Pick your organisation and you are on your dashboard. Signing in and choosing an organisation are two separate acts, because one account can work in more than one organisation.

An invitation is not a link you have to keep. A coordinator adds you by email address, and your place waits for you. Sign in with that same email address and you are in the organisation the moment you arrive, on the role you were given. That works on your first sign-in and on any later one, so an invitation that arrives while you are away still works when you get back.

If you sign in with a different email address from the one you were invited on, you will not see the organisation. Ask your coordinator to check the address on your invitation.

Open the account menu (your photo, top right) and press Sign out. You are returned to the front page.

Signing out ends your WholeVisit session. It does not always end your session with the identity provider, so signing in again may not ask you for anything. On a shared device, sign out of the browser as well.

Sessions do not last forever. When yours ends, a dialog appears over whatever you were doing:

Signed out

Your session has ended. Sign in again.

The dialog has one button, Sign in again, and it cannot be dismissed with Escape or by clicking outside it. That is deliberate. A care record must never be written by a session that has expired, so the platform blocks the screen rather than letting a save fail quietly.

Anything you had typed and not saved is lost. Sign in again and redo it.

If the platform says it could not load your account, check your connection and press Try again. If you get in but see no organisations, you have an account but nobody has added you to one yet. Ask a coordinator to add you on the Team page.
