The rota on a phone
This page is for coordinators away from a desk, and covers what the rota looks like on a phone.
It opens on today
Section titled “It opens on today”A seven column week is a desktop object, so on a phone the rota opens on today’s day view instead. If you follow a link that names a view, that view wins.
The day strip
Section titled “The day strip”Across the top is one button per day of the week. Each shows the weekday, the date and a dot for how busy the day is. The dot turns red when something that day needs attention. Today says “Today” in place of its weekday, in ink, so it stands out whichever day you are looking at.
Select a day to move to it. The arrows and “This week” above the strip move a day at a time, and roll into the next or previous week at either end.
The day list
Section titled “The day list”Under the strip is the day itself, as a list grouped by client or by support worker, depending on the “Clients” and “Support workers” toggle.
Each row shows the start and end time, a face, who the visit is with, and one status word: “Delivered”, “Arrived”, “Late 20 min”, “Missed”, “Not yet published” or “Published”. Where a visit needs attention, the reason takes the place of the status word, unless the visit is late or missed, which always wins.
On the support worker axis, visits nobody is on are grouped under “Unassigned” at the bottom. A day with nothing on it says “Nothing on this day.”
Opening a visit
Section titled “Opening a visit”Select a row and the visit’s card opens as a dialog over the list. It carries the same controls as the desktop card: who is on it, any warnings, “Assign to…”, the bin to take somebody off, “Auto-assign” and “Open visit”. Times, “Replace…” and “Cancel visit” live on the visit record behind “Open visit”.
Nothing in the day list is dragged. Everything is tapped.
The toolbar
Section titled “The toolbar”- The day is the title, between two arrows that move it. Once you have moved away from today, a “Today” link under the title brings you back.
- Under it, the “Clients” and “Support workers” tabs, then the “Add visit” icon and the “More” button. “More” holds putting somebody on call, “Copy last week”, “Reset to templates”, “Undo” when there is something to undo, and the choice of “Day”, “Week” or “Month”.
- Below that, “Auto-fill” and “Publish week”, side by side.
What needs a desktop
Section titled “What needs a desktop”- The day timeline, with a lane per support worker and travel drawn between their visits, is a desktop view. On a phone the same day is a list.
- Dragging a visit between days or between people needs a desktop. Use “Assign to…”, or “Replace…” on the visit record, instead; they do the same work.
- Dragging a visit’s edge to change its length needs a desktop. Use “Starts” and “Ends” on the visit record, behind “Open visit”, instead.
- The week grid and the month grid do open on a phone, but both are wide and scroll sideways. They are easier at a desk.
